Seller Terms

Version 1 · draft

1. Who can sell

You must be 18 or over, a student with a UK university email ending in .ac.uk, and verified by Stripe. Stripe checks your ID and date of birth; your account is approved automatically when it confirms you are 18 or over.

You work for yourself, not for Campus Cut or the business. Checking that you are allowed to do self-employed work in the UK is your responsibility. Student visa holders are not allowed to do this work.

2. Prohibited products

Campus Cut does not allow alcohol, tobacco, vapes or other age-restricted products. I won't sell these through Campus Cut, even if a business asks me to. Report a prohibited product before selling it.

3. Stock belongs to the business

Stock you collect stays the business's property until it is sold. You look after it, sell it only as the offer describes, and bring back what you don't sell.

4. Returns within 48 hours

Unsold stock must be returned within 48 hours of collecting it. We remind you 24 hours before the deadline, at the deadline and 24 hours after. While stock is overdue you can't collect more. Two overdue returns within 60 days suspend your account automatically; you can appeal from the home page.

5. Card holds and deductions

Before your first collection you save a card. For stock worth £40 or more we place a hold on it for the stock's value — nothing is taken unless stock goes missing.

If stock is missing beyond the loss allowance when it's counted back, we take its value from the hold (or your earnings) and your trust level drops to New. Stock not returned 6 days after it was due is charged in full. Stock returned later is refunded.

6. How disagreements are decided

If you and the business count different numbers, both of you get 24 hours to re-count and upload a photo. If you then agree, that count stands. If not: the business's count applies when only they sent a photo, your count applies when only you did, and otherwise we split the difference. Gaps worth more than £30 are decided by a person at Campus Cut.

7. Logging sales

Log only real sales. You can't log more than you collected. Unusually large logs, or logs without stock out, are flagged for review. Only sales the business confirms count towards what you're owed.

8. Ratings and suspensions

After each settled handover you and the business rate each other 1–5. If your average falls below 3 after at least 3 ratings, your account is suspended automatically. Reports of unsafe behaviour pause the reported account straight away while a person reviews it.

9. Getting paid

Each Monday we add up your confirmed sales from the previous Monday to Sunday. Once the business's weekly payment succeeds, your share is sent to your Stripe account; Stripe then pays it to your bank, usually within a few working days.
